South Africa's CSA T20 Challenge has reached its Super Eight stage. The two pools have been reduced to eight teams, and a new table has begun. Here is where things stand, who plays whom and what to look for.
This preview uses data from before the matches on 31 October 2026. The table below will change as the stage goes on, and fixtures can change. Check today's cricket matches for the current schedule.
The Super Eight table
| Pos | Team | P | W | L | Pts | NRR |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lions | 1 | 1 | 0 | 7 | +1.433 |
| 2 | South Western Districts | 1 | 1 | 0 | 5 | +0.691 |
| 3 | Dolphins | 0 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0.000 |
| 4 | Warriors | 0 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 0.000 |
| 5 | Titans | 1 | 0 | 1 | 4 | −0.691 |
| 6 | Rocks (Boland) | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0.000 |
| 7 | Western Province | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0.000 |
| 8 | Eastern Storm | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 | −1.433 |
Notice that teams have points despite not having played. Going by the table, teams carried different totals forward from the previous stage, which means pool performance still matters. Dolphins have 5 points before playing a Super Eight match, for example, while Western Province started with just 1.
How the pool stage went
Pool A
Dolphins and Lions finished level on 25 points, with Dolphins ahead on net run rate, 1.957 to 1.630. Warriors finished on 22 with an NRR of 1.520, and South Western Districts qualified on 17 despite a negative NRR.
Pool B
Titans topped the group with 28 points and a net run rate of 3.357, the highest of any leading team. Rocks had 26 and Western Province 25, each also with six wins, so bonus points separated them. Eastern Storm grabbed the final spot on 11 points. Titans and Rocks also shared one of the matches of the season, a tie settled by two Super Overs.

What to watch
Can Titans recover?
Titans have had a remarkable season so far, but they opened this stage with a defeat to South Western Districts. Lions on 1 November is a major test.
Will Lions extend their lead?
Lions began the stage with a nine-wicket win over Eastern Storm, with 12 balls to spare, and already have a useful points cushion.
Western Province's big climb
Western Province won six of their seven pool matches, including a last-ball DLS win in Pietermaritzburg, yet they sit near the bottom on just 1 point. They will need a strong run to make up for it.
